Position Summary

The Assistant Marketing Manager position supports various aspects of marketing, merchandising and brand communications for activewear brands across all channels of business.  In support of product planning and strategic initiatives, is responsible for managing the product portfolio which includes new product costing, style set up / management in PLM, managing account specific assortment files, and managing the digital promotional calendar and financial performance for the e-comm business.  This position also oversees and manages a variety of projects, working cross functionally to define action items and deliverables to ensure on-time execution.  

 

Specific Responsibilities

Marketing & Merchandising

  • Oversee key product, marketing and account specific initiatives at various stages to a successful and timely execution.
  • Manage status reports on projects with clear action items and deliverables. Complete follow-up with cross-functional team members as needed to ensure project elements are on track.
  • Manage timelines and help execute business plans including new program launches and product updates.
  • Sales support for all channels of distribution.
  • Manage seasonal product assortment tracker.
  • Manage account specific certifications through sales team / quality.
  • Manage co-op communications with accounts in distributor channel.
  • Manage account specific PDD for new product set up. Provide style number, UPC/GTIN, color, size, case pack, weight, and cost information to accounts for system set up.
  • PLM management for new style setup and updating style needs.
  • Assist with label development by submitting requests for label updates and new development.

P&L Analysis / Pricing

  • Development of pricing recommendations by analyzing cost, list price and suggested retail price to achieve FTL and retailer target margins
  • Develop/coordinate and disseminate necessary reports accurately and in a timely manner.   Provide recommendations to the business for trade and consumer promotional strategies.
  • Maintain price lists for all channels of business.
  • Submit price requests, track P&L completion and P&L approvals.

Digital Brand Communications

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive digital promotional calendar that aligns with the marketing strategy.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution of promotions across all digital platforms.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of marketing campaigns, using data driven analysis to optimize future initiatives.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Brand Communications, Business, a related field or a combination of education and work experience deemed equivalent to a bachelor’s degree
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in handling and reporting data
  • Familiarity with digital marketing channels
  • Strong communication skills - written and oral
  • High Proficient PC skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Good organizational skills, ability to handle multiple projects and work independently
  • Strong cross-functional and interpersonal skills to work on a team across multiple internal departments and with external partners

Minimum Job Experience Required

  • Minimum one year of related work experience preferred (e.g., design, fashion merchandising, retail apparel, office administration, marketing)
