The Product Engineer manages new products and existing product updates as they move from prototype to production ready including all communication required for a successful implementation. Responsible for loading garment specifications through development and during the product life cycle. The Product Engineer also manages fit, pattern analyses and the development of appropriate construction methods.
Manage the development of new prototypes for the assigned product categories. Work with Designers and Pattern Makers to ensure the product is developed to meet the desired design, consumer and financial targets. |
Supply the Manufacturing and Sourcing teams with the required development information including PDM packets, fabric requirements, trims, and general packing instructions. |
Responsible for managing the fitting process. Review all samples submitted for prototypes, size sets, sales samples, ADM and AFM samples. Comment on and communicate issues by approving or rejecting samples. |
Coordinate product competitive analysis required for internal use and account presentations. The focus of the analysis is on product, fabric and construction. Present competitive analysis to internal departments. |
Manage information required for new style startups. Follow up on changes suggested or requested by Sew Centers, Manufacturing, or Sourcing teams. |
5+ years of related product engineering experience
